What's the point? — MovingCap Advantages¶
Welcome to the world in motion.

MovingCaps bring everything along¶
With our MovingCaps, whether round or flat, everything is included: a completely integrated system consisting of motor, regulation, position detection, control and communication interfaces. All you need is the supply voltage, a network cable or digital signal – and off you go.
MovingCaps simply run great¶
Thanks to absolute position measurement, our MovingCap knows where it is immediately after waking up and moves quickly and vibration-free to where you want it to be, using our tried and tested position controller. No homing run required.
With MovingCap, you're up and running fast¶
MovingCap drives are extremely communicative – you warm up to them right away and have your movement up and running quickly. You choose how to give your MovingCap commands:
-
MovingCap WEB – Web interface for initial commissioning, tests and basic settings (gear ratio, coordinates, travel ranges, control parameters). Click & Run.
-
MovingCap IO – Up to 7 programmable digital inputs and 4 outputs. Teach and approach positions, execute relative movements, start homing runs – all via simple 24V signals, without industrial fieldbus.
-
MovingCap REFGO – Simple text-based communication over Ethernet/TCP. Example:
G2000= GO to 2000,SP500= SPEED 500. Quickly integrated on PC, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, LabVIEW or any industrial controller. -
MovingCap SLCAN – TCP/IP text-based in the language of CAN fieldbus (Serial Line CAN). Compatible with Ethernet-to-CAN gateways and the commissioning software Kickdrive for full DS402 drive functions.
-
MovingCap CODE – Deploy MicroPython programs directly in the drive. With the built-in
drivelibrary you can script all drive functions – completely without a master PLC. The MovingCap as a standalone intelligent unit.
MovingCaps are servo drives to CiA DS 402 and CiA 301¶
The CAN in Automation (CiA) group defines with CiA DS 402-2 / IEC 61800-7-201 what a servo drive can do. MovingCap drives offer all DS 402 motion modes and settings – regardless of whether you communicate via EtherCAT, TCP/IP, CAN, web interface or digital I/O:
- Precise positioning down to the micrometre range
- Driving conveyor belts at variable speeds
- Force-limited travel and external torque/force detection
- Software limits and application-specific coordinates (mm, μm, degrees)
- Continuous rotation or shortest-path mode for rotary applications
- Standardised DS 402 status feedback for all drive states and errors
- Synchronised multi-axis positioning via PDOs
